Air France Expands in Africa, Launches Flight to Dar Es Salam

Air France has unveiled the first new routes of its 2023 Summer flight schedule, marked by expansion of service to East Africa and launch of a brand new service to Dar es Salaam in Tanzania.

On 12 June, 2023, Air France will begin a new route from Paris CDG to Dar Es Salam as a linked service to Zanzibar. The service will operate 3 times a week using a Boeing 787-9 offering 30 seats in Business, 21 seats in Premium Economy and 225 seats in Economy.

Flight AF876 will depart Paris CDG at 10:20 AM on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, and land in Zanzibar at 8:15 PM. It will depart Zanzibar at 9:45PM, and land in Dar Es Salam at 10:20 PM.

Flight AF876 will depart Dar Es Salam at 11:50 PM on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, and land at Paris CDG at 07:55 AM (the following day). All times are local.

The new Dar es Salam service will result in increased frequencies between Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Zanzibar. Beginning Summer 2023, the “Spice Islands” will be serviced three times a week, compared to two in 2022.

From 12 June 2023, Nairobi will begin to see non-stop service with daily flight from Paris CDG. It will be operated by a Boeing 787-9. This service currently operates 6 times a week.

Starting next summer, Air France will offer a denser flight schedule between Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Antananarivo in Madagascar. The airline will offer 5 non-stop weekly flights compared to the current four.

Flights to Madagascar will be operated for the first time by an Airbus A350-900 offering 34 seats in Business class, 24 seats in Premium Economy class and 266 seats in Economy Class.
