Africa World Airlines has moved its operations to the new terminal of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport Lagos, becoming the first international airline and the second to relocate to the new terminal.

The Ghanaian airline commenced flight operations from the new terminal today, 1 September, 2022. Africa World Airlines also moved its administrative office to the new terminal today with the airline’s new office address in the new terminal being T2-029.

It'll be recalled that earlier in April, Nigeria's leading airline, Air Peace, became the first airline to operate flights from the newly commissioned Terminal 2 of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.

The new Lagos Airport terminal has the capacity to process 14 million passengers per annum. It has 66 check-in counters, 5 baggage collection carousels, 16 immigration desks at arrival, 28 immigration desks at departure, 8 security screening points and 6 passenger boarding bridges.

The new Terminal 2 is expected to improve the overall passenger experience of international air travellers, including check-in, boarding and deboarding, security, baggage handling, and general convenience.

The new Terminal 2 of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos was commissioned in March 2022 by President Mohammadu Buhari.
