Delta Air Lines will resume scheduled flights between Atlanta, USA and Johannesburg in South Africa with effect from 24 October, 2020.

As we reported last week, the service will now be linked to a new service to Cape Town, South Africa, and will be operated by an Airbus A350-900 instead of a Boeing 777-200LR.

Delta had in March, announced that it would retire its 18 Boeing 777 including the Boeing 777-200LR which it deployed on the Atlanta-Johannesburg service before it was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The new routing will be Atlanta-Johannesburg-Cape Town-Atlanta routing, replacing the previously operated nonstop Atlanta-Johannesburg-Atlanta routing.

Flight DL204 will depart Atlanta at 17:45 and arrive Johannesburg at 15:45 the next day. It will leave Johannesburg at 17:15 and arrive Cape Town at 19:30. The flight will depart Cape Town at 21:30 and arrive Atlanta at 06:45 the following day. All times are local.
