CSR: Etihad Airways Steps Up Corporate Fight Against COVID-19

As airlines around the world unveil initiatives to help the fight against COVID-19, Etihad Airways has amplified its corporate social responsibility (CSR) to support those affected by the novel coronavirus.

Etihad Airways Medical Centre (EAMC) collaborated with Etihad Engineering to develop 1,000 face shields for healthcare professionals working in medical centres across the UAE.

With the logistical support of Emirates Red Crescent, the airline will start distributing the face shields to medical professionals at EAMC and SEHA this week.

The face shields are designed and manufactured using Etihad Engineering’s latest 3D printing technology certified by the highest aviation standards. The shields were validated by EAMC’s medical team to ensure protection.

Since the start of the pandemic, Etihad Airways has been actively involved in the fight through various CSR initiatives including the donation of ventilators, masks, gloves and soap to refugees, and other displaced people.

The airline is also donating over 1000 units of essential supplies to SEHA, Emirates Foundation, ADNEC Field Hospital and Trade Centre Field Hospital with bags containing children’s activity packs and essential bathroom amenities.
