Bowing Out: South African Airways' Acting CEO 'Resigns'

South African Airways' Acting CEO, Ms Zuks Ramasia, has 'resigned' from her role, after her request for early retirement was approved by the airline’s Board of Directors.

This is coming less than one year after taking up the chief executive job. Her early retirement will take effect on 14 April, 2020.

Ms Zuks Ramasia was appointed the Acting CEO of South African Airways in June, 2019 following the resignation of Vuyani Jarana. She's the 3rd South African Airways CEO to leave in 5 years.

Interestingly, Ms Ramasia started as a Flight Attendant in 1992, and rose to the ranks of Senior Cabin Crew Member, then Safety and Emergency Procedures Trainer, before taking up her first management position in 2000. She spent a total of 28 years at South African Airways.

In December 2005, she was appointed as Head of SAA’s Global Operations Control Centre (GOCC), a position she held for seven years before she was appointed as General Manager for Operations in 2012.

In June 2019, Ms Ramasia was appointed Acting CEO of the airline and was also appointed as Chairperson of the Airlines Association of Southern Africa in October 2019.

According to the airline, Ms Zuks Ramasia’s successor will be announced in due course during the airline's Business Rescue process.

Wow! Stunning! Hilton seems to be taking Africa by storm. Just a couple of years back, they opened the first ever in Eswatini.

Thank you for sharing such a detailed review about ethiopian airlines in your post. I am an avid traveller and keep reading flight reviews to assess the options available. Your review particularly drew my attention because you have shared so many pictures to capture every aspect of the flight experience. It is a very nice effort.

I am really tempted to book the next ethiopian airlines ticket and relive your journey. The pictures shared with the post also reflect that you truly enjoyed the travel. Great post! I also like the fact that you have covered nuances about the food and entertainment service through the pictures. It helps people know what to expect on their travel by this airline.
