Cabo Verde Airlines will stop flying between Sal in Cape Verde and Salvador in Brazil with effect from March 1, 2020, reports Lusa.

The airline cited fleet utilization due to expansion and launch of new destinations in 2020 for Europe and Africa, as the reason for this cancellation.

The last outbound flight from Sal will operate on 2 March, 2020 while the last inbound flight from Salvador will operate on 3 March, 2020.

According to the airline, all passengers affected by the cancellation will be accommodated on flights out of Recife or Fortaleza. Passengers who don’t want to change tickets will get full refund.

At this point, it is not clear whether the company plans to resume flights on the Sal-Salvador route at some point in the future.

However, Capo Verde Airlines will continue operating to the remaining destinations in Brazil including Recife, Fortaleza and Porto Alegre, in addition to other international destinations like Dakar, Lisbon, Paris, Milan, Rome, Boston, Washington and Lagos.
