Business Class passengers travelling on KLM's flights will soon be able to enjoy onboard meals created by their own captain.

From January 2020, KLM will serve World Business Class passengers a dish created by KLM Captain Folkert Stikvoort. Captain Stikvoort is the winner of the KLM Cooking Contest.

Contestants were asked to create a pasta recipe featuring sustainable fish. The dishes were judged on flavour, presentation, use of ingredients and whether it was suitable to be served on board.

Folkert won with his ravioli filled with shellfish in Noilly Prat sauce with sorrel. His winning dish will be served to World Business Class passengers from January 2020, for up to three months.

KLM has a longstanding partnership with Jonnie en Thérèse Boer of three-star restaurant De Librije in Zwolle for World Business Class meals and the selection of appropriate wines.
