Going Coastal and Beachy: Qatar Airways Spreads Wings to Mombasa

Qatar Airways will launch direct flights to Kenya’s second largest city, Mombasa, opening up the country’s beautiful coasts to international holiday-makers from 11 December 2018.

The new four weekly service will be Qatar Airways’ second Kenyan destination, in addition to existing flights to Nairobi. Flight time between Doha and Mombasa will be just over six hours.

The service will be operated on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays with an Airbus A320 offering 12 Business Class seats and 120 Economy Class seats.

Flight QR1333 will depart Hamad International Airport, Doha by 02:30 and arrive Mombasa by 08:40. Flight QR1334 will leave Mombasa by 16:50 and arrive Doha by 23:30.

Bordering the Indian Ocean, tropical Mombasa is Kenya’s main coastal tourist destination and a popular gateway to the country’s amazing white beaches and coral reef diving.

The cosmopolitan city has also become a destination in its own right, thanks to its diverse cultural mix and old town charm.

Qatar Airways first started flying to Kenya with flights to the capital city of Nairobi in November 2005. It currently operates three daily flights between Doha and Nairobi.

Qatar Airways will launch flights to other new destinations in 2018/19, including Gothenburg, Sweden; Da Nang, Vietnam; Tallinn, Estonia and Valletta, Malta, to name just a few.
