Turkish Airlines 'Troia' Themed Aircraft Takes to the Sky

Following the announcement of 2018 as “The Year of Troia” by Turkey Ministry of Culture and Tourism, various activities continue to be conducted on a global scale to promote the region during the whole year.
Turkish Airlines has shown support to the promotion of activities of “The Year of Troia” with its "Troia” themed aircraft.
This aircraft, introduced to the press with a special event in the Hangar of Turkish Technic will contribute to the promotion of the “The Year of Troia” through its worldwide flights.
The global carrier specially designed its A321-type aircraft with a livery of the ‘Trojan Horse’ image after the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Culture and Tourism announced 2018 as “The Year of Troia”.
As the flag carrier airline of Turkey, Turkish Airlines will contribute to the promotion of “Troia” with its Troia themed aircraft at many worldwide destinations it serves.
Located near the village of Tevfikiye in the province of Çanakkale, Troy is one of the most famous ancient cities in the world. Anatolia has always played a very important role in terms of commercial and cultural connections with other regions due to its unique location on the geography of the Aegean and Balkans.
Troy, which had been destroyed and rebuilt 9 times for various reasons, is regarded as a reference for other archaeological sites both in Europe and Aegean with its 3,000 year history and excavations are still being carried out in this magnificent archaeological city.
“The Year of Troia” coincides with the 20th anniversary of the admission of the archaeological site of Troia to UNESCO's World Cultural Heritage List.
The Trojan, which dates back to 3000 BC, is one of the unique civilizations of Anatolia with its history that was the subject of many epics.
