Fleet Expansion: Ethiopian Airlines Orders Bombardier Q400

Ethiopian Airlines has signed a firm purchase agreement for 10 new Q400 aircraft from Bombardier Commercial Aircraft. The order also includes options for 5 additional Q400s.
Based on the current list price of the Q400 aircraft, the firm order is valued at approximately $332 million U.S.
This is the fifth time Ethiopian Airlines is reordering the Q400 turboprop which will add to the airline’s existing fleet of 21 of the type.
Designed as a modern, 21st-century turboprop, the Q400 aircraft is the most recent development in the Q Series family of aircraft. It provides unmatched performance, operational flexibility and passenger comfort.
In addition to the standard single-class configuration, Q400 aircraft are available with an optional dual-class interior for enhanced passenger comfort and a higher-density configuration offering up to 90 seats.
Ethiopian Airlines currently operates a fleet of 99 aircraft including Boeing 787, Boeing 777 and Airbus A350 to over 100 domestic, regional and international destinations.
