The organizers of the African Sports Tourism Summit & Awards have announced a new date for the sports and tourism event.

The event which had been previously scheduled to hold from 30 May to 2 June, 2018, will now hold from 23 to 26 May, 2018 in Lagos, Nigeria.

Organized in media partnership with Supersports, Afrotourism, African Traveler Quarterly, The Afritraveller and technical partnership with League of African Sports Tourism Stakeholders and Nigeria Travel Week, African Sports Tourism Summit & Awards is an annual gathering of pundits and stakeholders from both sports and tourism communities.

The event involves robbing minds and seeking ways to harmonize the efforts of stakeholders towards maximizing opportunities provided by sporting events, monuments and collections through active sports tourism, event sports tourism and nostalgia sports tourism for socio-economic gain for Africa.

Like the African nations' cup, the event is hosted by different African nations - year after year.

The 2018 edition of the summit comes with two sets of panelists. One focuses on the topic ‘Audit of South Africa 2010 and Nigeria ‘99: What Stones Were Left Unturned?’ while the second deals with ‘Success Stories: Lessons For Nigerian Sports Tourism’.

The awards are pan-African. The event which will be covered by Supersports, will also feature Sports Tourism Destination Exhibition, a football match and a golf tournament.
