IWD: Ethiopian Airlines Deploys All-Women Crew to Argentina

To mark the 2018 International Women’s Day, Ethiopian Airlines today, deployed an all-women crew on its inaugural flight between Addis Ababa and Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Everyone involved in the planning and operation of the flight is a woman including the pilots, cabin crew, flight engineers, flight dispatchers.

The initiative is part of the airlines commitment of mainstreaming gender into its core business.

Currently, Ethiopia is registering rapid economic growth with strong emphasis on industrialization with the construction of industrial zones and the development of tourism.

As Ethiopia's national carrier, Ethiopian Airlines is fast expanding its global footprint, currently covering over 100 international destinations across five continents.

Buenos Aires will become Ethiopian Airlines 6th destination in the Americas. The airline currently flies to Washington, New York, Los Angeles, Toronto and São Paulo.

The new service will provide efficient connections to airline's network in Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, including Beijing, Shanghai, Tokyo, Mumbai, Delhi, Dubai, Nairobi, and Cairo.

The new scheduled flights between Addis Ababa and Buenos Aires, Argentina will operate five times a week.

Buenos Aires is the capital of Argentina and the 2nd largest city in South America with a population of over 13 million. Argentina is one of the largest economies in Latin America.
