Ethiopian Airlines Acquires Africa’s First Airbus A350 Flight Simulator

Ethiopian Airlines has achieved yet another milestone, becoming the first A350 XWB Simulator Operator in Africa and among the few in the world.

This simulator is fitted with a full electrical motion system which delivers improved performance while providing energy savings and environmental benefits.

The introduction of the Airbus A350 XWB Full-Flight Simulator is a continuation of Ethiopian Airlines pioneering role in African aviation Technology.

This is part of the airlines Vision 2025 strategic roadmap to be fully self-sufficient in the provision of pilot training in all the aircraft type it operates.

The new A350 simulator joins other full-flight simulators the airline already operates including the Boeing 787, Boeing 777, Boeing 737, Boeing 757, Boeing 767 and Q400.

With its over six decades of existence, Ethiopian Aviation Academy is a world class Aviation Training Center equipped with state-of-the-art training equipment and technology.

Ethiopian Aviation Academy has trained pilots from over 52 countries in Africa, the Middle East, Asia and Europe for close to 50 years.

In 2016, Ethiopian Airlines took delivery of Africa’s first Airbus A350 XWB. It currently operates 7 A350 XWBs with 17 more on order.
