Kenya Airways will operate its state of the art Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner on its newly launched daily service between Nairobi and New York, scheduled to launch on 28 October, 2018.

The airline announced this on Thursday, 11 January in Nairobi during the official launch of the new intercontinental service. It will be the fastest connection between East Africa and New York

Kenya Airways Boeing 787 Dreamliner can comfortably carry a total of 234 passengers including 30 in business class and 204 in economy class.

Boeing 787 offers passenger-pleasing features including the biggest (electronically dimmable) window in the sky, higher humidity, mood lighting, lower cabin altitude, cleaner air and quieter engines.

The new service will be Kenya Airways first ultra long haul service, will taking 15 hours eastbound and 14 hours westbound. It will have 4 pilots and 12 flight attendants.

Flight KQ2 will depart JKIA, Nairobi at 23:25 and arrive at JFK, New York at 06:25 the following day. Flight KQ3 will depart JFK at 12:25 and land at JKIA at 10:55 the following day.
