The International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) has named Nigeria’s leading airline, Air Peace as the official airline of its World Aviation Forum (IWAF) scheduled to hold in Abuja, Nigeria next week.

Announcing this in a statement on Wednesday in Lagos, the airline said the Second Vice-President of the Council of ICAO, Capt. Musa Nuhu confirmed the designation to Air Peace through its Chairman, Mr Allen Onyema.

Nuhu, who is also Nigeria’s representative on the Council of ICAO, commended Air Peace said the partnership will contribute tremendously to the successful hosting of the aviation forum.

According to Nuhu, the forum will provide Air Peace the opportunity to connect with a global audience of aviation stakeholders and eventually give boost to the airlines’s plan to launch international operations to London, Dubai, Guangzhou, Mumbai, Houston and Johannesburg.

The World Aviation Forum will hold in Abuja from 20-22 November, 2017. This is the first time the IWF is hosted outside ICAO’s headquarters in Montreal, Canada.

With the theme of “Financing the Development of Aviation Infrastructure”, the Forum is intended to explore the benefits of the aviation sector to the social, economic development and prosperity of Member States.

The Forum is aimed at high-level government officials responsible for aviation, transport and infrastructure, finance, economy, and tourism; and key industry and financial partners.
