Rwandair Hosts African Airlines 49th Annual General Assembly

RwandAir has successfully hosted African airlines top executives, industry manufacturers, service providers and other stakeholders in aviation across Africa and the world during the 49th Annual General Assembly (AGA) and summit of the African Airlines Association (AFRAA).

The conference which took place from 12 - 14 November in Kigali, was officially opened by Honorable Ngirente Edouard, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Rwanda and proceedings of the two-day event will be chaired by the Acting Chief Executive Officer of RwandAir, Chance Ndagano, the President of AFRAA.

The Secretary General of AFRAA presented a detailed state of the industry in Africa report highlighting the achievements, challenges and plans for the future.

His presentation and the address by IATA VP Africa on behalf of the Director General 2 & CEO of IATA, Alexandre de Juniac, set the tone for discussions of the two day summit.

The 49th AFRAA AGA conclude with the adoption of a number of resolutions urging airlines, governments and other stakeholders to act in concert to advance the course of African aviation.

AFRAA also used the occasion to present Awards to individuals and companies that distinguished themselves in the industry in 2016.
