Ushering yet another travel experience, Ethiopian Airlines has continued its technology leadership, owning and operating Africa’s first and only Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft to different African cities.
Ethiopian’s new revolutionary flying machine touched down in Madagascar on 10 November to a warm welcome ceremony attended by Ministers, Ambassadors, government authorities and travel partners.
Ethiopian’s Boeing 787-9 offers passenger-pleasing features including extra comfort with the biggest window in the sky, more leg room, lower noise, mood lighting and higher air humidity at 40, 000 feet.
Ethiopian Airlines took delivery of Africa's first Boeing 787-9 on 27 October, 2017 becoming the first airline to operate the type in Africa. Ethiopian also became Africa’s first airline to fly the Boeing 787-8 in 2012.
The Boeing 787-9 is 20 feet or 6 meters longer than the smaller Boeing 787-8 and has more passenger capacity with 315 seats in Ethiopian Airlines configuration.
With its superior customer services, Ethiopian has been playing a critical role in bringing Africa together and connecting it to the world through facilitating commerce, tourism and people to people ties.
