In what was a very emotional moment, the only father-daughter team on the British Airways’ Boeing 777 flew together for the final time on Thursday, 2 November, 2017.

David Woodruffe’s final flight with his daughter Kat Woodruffe, 35, landed at London Heathrow airport after completing his retirement flight from New York.

Their last flight as team was Flight BA172 from New York JFK to London Heathrow Airport from Nov 1 which touched down in London Heathrow in the morning of November 2 following an over-night flight.

The duo from Horsham, West Sussex have operated around a dozen flights together during which Kat would call him “captain, dad and occasionally Dave”, Belfast Telegraph news website reported.

After joining the airline in 1984, Woodruffe held the role of captain until his retirement flight. He said he felt mixed emotions flying alongside his daughter during his final flight.

“I’m sorry to be leaving BA after so many years", the 64-year-old captain said.
