Nigeria's Azman Air yesterday unveiled its 5th and first ever airbus aircraft at the Mallam Aminu Kano Airport Kano with Emir Sanusi Lamido and the Governor of Kano State in attendance.

The 282-seat Airbus A330 aircraft was officially inaugurated into the Nigerian airspace at a brief ceremony presided over by the Emir of Kano, Mohammad Sanusi, 11 and Governor Umar Abdullahi Ganduje.

According to Suleiman Lawan, General Manager of the airline, the new aircraft would be specifically deployed on the airline's Kano-Jeddah route, Kano-Dubai route and Kano-China route.

Abdulmunaf Yunusa Sarina, President, AZMAN Group, said the new aircraft was part of effort to increase capacity, stating that the airline would add another aircraft in the next six months.

Azman Air has been experiencing growth recently. On 2 December, 2016, it took delivery of its fourth aircraft, a Boeing 737-500. On 12 May, 2017, it launched its Kano-Jeddah service.

With a fleet of 5 aircraft, Azman Air currently flies to 10 domestic and international destinations including Jeddah in Saudi Arabia.
