Nigeria's Arik Air, West and Central Africa’s largest carrier, has successfully implemented the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Ground Operations Manual (IGOM).

The IGOM Certificate was presented by Mr. Albakri Mohammad Ali (Regional VP, Africa and Middle East IATA) to Capt. Roy Ilegbodu (CEO Arik Air) at Arik Air Aviation Centre Lagos on Wednesday.

The IATA Ground Operations Manual (IGOM) defines ground handling standards for airlines and ground service providers to ensure ground operations activities are safely, efficiently, and consistently accomplished.

In another development, the airline has announced that it has brought back its loyalty program - Affinity Wings - following the completion of system upgrade.

According to the airline, its existing members can continue to earn miles on all domestic and regional flights operated by Arik Air. News members can earn 1000 miles instantly when they sign up on www.arikair.com.
