Following media reports of an emergency landing of an Ethiopian Airlines' aircraft at Indira Gandhi International airport New Delhi, India on Monday, the airline has released a statement refuting the reports.

A statement posted by Ethiopian Airlines on its website and social media pages read "This is to correct the factually incorrect news article circulating on some media outlets in regard with our regular flight ET 686/23-24JUL schedule service from Addis Ababa to New Delhi which has landed at IGI airport in Delhi in standard landing procedures.

The flight did not make any emergency landing and did not have any emergency condition. The flight computer had a short and nuisance fault message about its landing configuration but it was cleared instantly by the flight crew and the flight made regular landing which can be testified from the airport database."

Several news media channels had on Monday reported that an Ethiopian Airlines plane made an emergency landing at Indira Gandhi International airport in Delhi on Monday morning due to a technical snag.

Ethiopian Airlines operates daily flight between its Addis Ababa hub and the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport in Delhi.
