Despite the interventions of Nigeria's Acting President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo and the stunt of Nigeria's Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, the Jollof rice war between Ghana and Nigeria is far from over.
That is why the organizers of this year's Akwaaba Africa Travel Market have introduced Chef Challenge/ Food Expo to the annual international travel and tourism fair.
The culinary event is aimed at promoting tourism in Nigeria by showcasing the best of Nigeria to an international audience.
The tourism event will be hosting chefs from Ghana, Gambia and Nigeria to compete for Jollof rice challenge. The 36 states in Nigeria will compete for the best main meal while a group of Nigerian chefs will compete for the best prepared rice in varieties.
These activities were created purposely to bring out the best in West Africa in terms of rice production and promoting the outlook of culinary tourism and local delicacies to foreigners thereby promoting indigenous hospitality and style.
The chef challenge event will be creating an opportunity for the Nigerian chef to network and grow their profile while promoting Nigerian culinary tourism and Hospitality industry.
The 13th Akwaaba Africa Travel Market, Aviation Day, will be holding at Eko Hotel and Suites from September 10th– 12th 2017 with the Chef Challenge/ Food Expo holding on 10th September.
At the end of the show, we would know who actually makes the best Jollof rice in Africa. Is it Ghana or Nigeria? Is it Gambia or is it Senegal? Only time will tell.

Prices in the Sol Torremolinos Don Pablo are the same than two weeks ago.
Good location astounding but the staffs are rude and they make me wait so long for the service. They charge me more than what is on the website and did not refund me the manager is not helping with the issue
