Nigeria's Medview Airlines will launch scheduled flights operations between Lagos International Airport and Johannesburg O.R. Tambo, South Africa in the second half of the year.

The airline's Managing Director, Alhaji Muneer Bankole, who disclosed this to the Nigerian press last month, said the airline was awaiting the delivery of a Boeing 777-200ER, confirmed from euroAtlantic Airways, and a Boeing 737-800NG currently undergoing pre-delivery maintenance checks.

While the Boeing 777 will be deployed on flights to Dubai, the Boeing 737 will be used on the Lagos-Johannesburg flights. However, no dates or frequencies were announced.

Medview currently operates two Boeing 737-400s, one Boeing 737-500, one Boeing 767-300ER, and one Boeing 747-400 to domestic, regional and international destinations including London Gatwick.
