There is a brand new Star Alliance benefit that basically allows holders of its Gold Status to 'jump the queues' at airport immigration checks, skipping the lines and arriving at their destinations in time.

The new new Gold Track Security and Immigration allows Gold Status holders to to proceed more smoothly through security and passport control at the participating airports.

Gold Status holders including passengers travelling in Economy Class or customers flying with a member airline in First Class or Business Class are all eligible for Star Alliance Gold Track access.

Star Alliance is currently offering this service at 12 airports worldwide including Addis Ababa Bole International Airport, Ethiopia and Cairo International Airport, Egypt.

If you don't have this service at an airport near you, don't worry as Star Alliance it will constantly expanding this service airport by airport across its network.

Five airlines created Star Alliance as the first global aviation alliance back in 1997. With its headquarters at Frankfurt Airport, Germany, Star Alliance today, has 28 member airlines, each with its own distinctive culture and style of service.

African airlines in the Star Alliance network include Ethiopian Airlines, South African Airways and EgyptAir.
