Barely two days after it took delivery of its twelfth aircraft, Nigeria's Air Peace has announced that it will commence flight operations from Lagos and Abuja into Sokoto with effect from March 1, 2017.

Announcing this, the Corporate Communications Manager of Air Peace, Mr. Chris Iwarah said the development was in response to the travelling public particularly those from Sokoto and other parts of the North.

With the commencement of Sokoto operations, Air Peace will have launched its fifth route in six months having started Lagos-Benin-Lagos and the Abuja-Benin-Abuja routes in September 2016, Lagos-Uyo-Lagos in December 2016.

According to the statement, the airline plans to launch more regional and international destinations, including Abidjan, Douala, Niamey, Dakar, Johannesburg, South Africa, Dubai, Mumbai, Guangzhou-China, Atlanta and London.

On February 16, Air Peace ventured into regional operations with launch of a daily Lagos-Accra-Lagos service. On 21 February, the airline took delivery of its twelfth aircraft, a Boeing 737-500 with capacity for 114 passengers.
