Aviation Africa, which takes place in Kigali, Rwanda on 22-23 February 2017, has announced the first aircraft that will be displayed at the event, a Gulfstream G280 from Savannah-based Gulfstream Aerospace.

Working closely with host Rwanda Civil Aviation Authority, the aircraft will be displayed at Kigali Airport and shuttle buses will run from the exhibition centre just 5km away. Delegates and VIPs from across Africa, including senior Government officials, will be able to view the aircraft and its VIP interior.

The G280 is a super-midsize aircraft with a maximum range of 3,600 nm/6,667 km at Mach 0.80, making the G280 the only aircraft in its class capable of reliably flying nonstop from London to New York year-round.

Alan Peaford, Conference Chairman and organiser of Aviation Africa, said “This is a great addition to our launch event in Kigali; there is nothing better when hosting an event on aviation to actually have aircraft for people to view.”

AfBAA – the African Business Aviation Association is hosting a dedicated business aviation pavilion in the exhibition hall and the conference will feature panel sessions and dedicated workshops on fractional ownership and the challenges and profitability of business aviation in Africa.

The event takes place at the Radisson Blu Hotel and Convention Centre in Kigali.
