If you are flying with Virgin Atlantic this week, then brace yourself for some Christmas feast up in the sky as the airline will be serving 27,000 Christmas dinners at 38,000ft.

Between 24 and 26 December, passengers travelling with the airline will be treated to a three course Christmas meal including turkey and all the trimmings free of charge.

Virgin Atlantic's chefs began developing the seasonal inflight treat in June to help make travelling over Christmas even more special.

In total the airlines expects to serve up around 2,000 kilos of turkey, 100,000 sprouts, and 82,000 roast potatoes on board flights to the US, Africa, UAE and China.
