Four months after suspending its operations, Nigeria’s Aero Contractors has said it has concluded plans to resume flights on Wednesday this week.

The embattled airline which suspended flight services on September 1, 2016, due to lack of funds said it would resume operations with a few flights, according to reports by Thisday.

It plans to resume flights with two Boeing 737-500s and one Bombardier Dash 8-300, but expects to add two more Bombardier Dash 8-300s within a week bring its fleet to five aircraft.

The airline also said that labour issues, which delayed the airline’s resumption of operations had been resolved and the major condition given by the Assets Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) that the company must restructure, was being met.

However, an attempt by The Afritraveller to make a booking on the airline's website (www.flyaero.com) proved abortive as the server returned with "502 Bad Gateway" message, suggesting that the airline's website is still down.

It is only time that will tell whether Aerocontractors will truly resume flight services this week or any time soon.
