East African carrier and the national airline of Rwanda, RwandAir has taken delivery of a brand new Boeing 737-800NG aircraft nicknamed "#Kalisimbi" from Boeing.

The delivery flight of the new Boeing 737-800NG took off yesterday morning from Boeing delivery center in Seattle,Washington, landed in Kigali this afternoon after a stopover in Athens, Greece.

After the traditional welcome shower, “Kalisimbi” was properly welcomed by INTAYOBERANA Cultural troupe. "This aircraft takes us to 10 aircraft and 11 end of this nov, then 12 mid next year" said CEO John Mirenge.

Last month RwandAir took delivery of its first ever widebody aircraft, an A330-200 from Airbus. A second A330-300 is expected later this month.
