Etihad Airways Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner touched down in Johannesburg Tuesday afternoon following its inaugural flight from Abu Dhabi.

Flight EY604 which took off from Abu Dhabi at 10.15am, arrived at 4.45pm local time. Return flight EY603 departed Johannesburg at 7.50pm the same day and landed in Abu Dhabi at 6.10am the following morning.

The two-class Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner operates daily on the route and features Etihad Airways’ next-generation Business and Economy Class cabins.

Etihad Airways said the upgrade to the Boeing 787-9 was to enhance their guests' experiences. Before now, the airline deployed the Airbus A330 on the route.
