The 12th edition of Akwaaba African Travel Market yesterday, Sunday October 30, 2016 opened at the prestigious Eko Hotel Convention Centre, Lagos, Nigeria.

The event was declared open by the Deputy Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry of Zimbabwe, Annastacia Ndlouv under the watchful eyes of the event organizer, Mr Ikechi Uko.

Following the cutting of the tape, Mr Ikechi led the tour of the exhibition stands. Exhibitors at the event yesterday included Dubai Tourism, South Africa and South African Airways, Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda and RwandAir, Funwine, Team Africa, Travelstart etc.

Dignitaries present at the opening ceremony included NANTA President, Bernard Bankole, Mr. Talal Alsuwaidi, Manager, Dubai Tourism, Mr Ikechi Uko, organiser Akwaaba African Travel Market; Mr. Omror Alal, Dubai Immigration, and Rwanda High Commissioner to Nigeria, Amb. Stanislas Kamanzi and a host of others.

The 3-day Travel and Tourism conference continues till the 1st of November, 2016.
