Emirates, yesterday, closed reservation for its Dubai-Abuja service for flights on or after 30 October, 2016 confirming the suspension news going round.

There have been media reports that the airline is stopping flight operations to Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

According to the reports, Emirates said the reason for this decision is irregularities in the controversial foreign currency repatriation policy of Nigeria.

Emirates currently operates the Dubai-Abuja service 4 times a week using the Boeing 777-300 aircraft. The service had been slated to increase to daily from 5 December, 2016.

The last flight on that service is now scheduled to operate on 29 October, 2016.
