Roughly a year after suspending its flight services to China due to low profitability, Air Madagascar is set to resume operations to China early next year.

According to Airline Route, effective February 12, 2017, the airline will recommence service to Guangzhou, China with twice weekly flights aboard its Airbus A340-300 aircraft.

Air Madagascar had previously operated its Guangzhou flight via Bangkok Suvarnabhumi, but will now service the Chinese city via St. Denis de la Réunion with a codeshare with Air Austral expected to be announced in due course.

Presently, Air Madagascar has no local traffic rights on the St. Denis de la Réunion-Guangzhou sector and vice versa.

According to the information available on its website, Air Madagascar currently flies to 12 domestic and 8 international destinations with a fleet of 9 aircraft.
