Italian carrier, Meridiana fly has launched a service between Lagos and Milan Malpensa, Italy announced dre aviation which is the country representative and GSA for the airline in Nigeria.

The route will be serviced initially once a week aboard a Boeing 767 aircraft with the expectation of increasing frequencies in due course.

A spokesman for dre aviation in London said “we are delighted with the launch. We would like to thank all authorities including the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority and The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, for ensuring a successful launch. We will now commence our commercial activities and develop the brand in Nigeria. We will utilise our existing relationships with the travel trade in Nigeria and are confident about the future success of the route.”

Commenting on the launch, Sukhjinder Mann, Founder and Managing Partner of dre aviation expressed his thanks “to all partners and authorities that made the launch of this route a success.

Meridiana fly S.p.A. is a privately owned Italian airline headquartered in Olbia with its main base at Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport.

The airline is meant to fill in the Bilateral Air Services Agreement (BASA) left open by Alitalia which stopped flying to Nigeria in 2015.
