Kenya Airways has delivered the second Boeing 777-300ER aircraft to Turkish Airlines and the second Boeing 787-8 to Oman Air as part of sub-lease agreements with the two carriers.

The agreements are part of the KQ’s Operation Pride strategy as it seeks to rationalise its excess capacity through sub-leases and outright sales, while increasing aircraft utilisation.

This year, Kenya Airways already sold and delivered to Omni Air International two B777-200ERs. The delivery of the second 787 to Oman Air completes the transaction of the sub-lease which is for three years.

The deal with Turkish Airlines is for three aircrafts, two of which have been handed over so far, and one more to be de-registered and transferred to them in the next week. The aircrafts are on lease for four to five years.

Kenya Airways GMD and CEO Mbuvi Ngunze said, “While it is sad to see brand new aircraft going to other airlines, it is important to understand the context in which we are taking these decisions. We need to close our gap in profitability and rapidly reduce our cost and debt structure”.

The airline plans to continue to utilize its Boeing 787, Boeing 737 and E190 fleets across its network in a more efficient manner and increasing utilization.

Wow! Stunning! Hilton seems to be taking Africa by storm. Just a couple of years back, they opened the first ever in Eswatini.

Thank you for sharing such a detailed review about ethiopian airlines in your post. I am an avid traveller and keep reading flight reviews to assess the options available. Your review particularly drew my attention because you have shared so many pictures to capture every aspect of the flight experience. It is a very nice effort.

I am really tempted to book the next ethiopian airlines ticket and relive your journey. The pictures shared with the post also reflect that you truly enjoyed the travel. Great post! I also like the fact that you have covered nuances about the food and entertainment service through the pictures. It helps people know what to expect on their travel by this airline.
