According to business traveller, British Airways has announced a new route from London Gatwick Airport to Cape Town, commencing November 24.

The thrice weekly winter service will complement BA’s existing double daily flights from Heathrow to the South African port city.

The carrier will offer a three-class Boeing 777 service on the route, with World Traveller fares starting from £795, World Traveller Plus from £1,712, and Club World from £3,924.

Flights will depart on Monday, Thursday and Saturday at 1800, arriving into Cape Town at 0750 the following morning.

The return leg will leave the South African city on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday at 1910, arriving back into the UK at 0505 the following day.

British Airways will be the only carrier to offer direct, non-stop services from both Gatwick and Heathrow to Cape Town.

The airline is also set to launch new flights from Gatwick to Costa Rica, New York JFK and Lima this year.

British Airways will add a fourth three-class Boeing 777 to its Gatwick fleet from this winter, making a total of 12 Boeing 777s at the airport.
