Qatar Airways has commenced daily service between Logan International Airport in Boston and Hamad International Airport in Doha.

The first flight operated by an Airbus A350 touched down at Logan wednesday afternoon marking the beginning of a partnership between the city of Boston and Qatar Airways.

Qatar Airways was the global launch customer for the Airbus A350, commencing commercial operations with the new aircraft in January 2015.

The Airbus A350 features a revolutionary system for the reduction of jet lag by using a high precision air management system to reduce cabin pressure and optimize humidity, and managing passenger melatonin levels via a dynamic LED lighting system.

Qatar Airways will celebrate this historic partnership next month by hosting a landmark press conference, followed by a gala dinner showcasing the airline's world-renowned hospitality.

Boston is Qatar Airways' ninth destination in the United States. On 1 January 2016, the airline commenced daily service to Los Angeles; daily service to Atlanta will commence on 1 June 2016.
