According to MRO Network, Michelin has signed a deal with Boeing to supply tyres for the landing gear of the 777-200, -300 and the cargo aircraft.

The contract will be effective from July 2016 and will see Michelin manufacture its Near Zero Growth (NZG) radial tyres at its facility in Bourges, France.

The certification expands the partnership between the parties, which has seen Michelin supply Boeing with tyres for 737, 747 and 787 aircraft, as well as other 777 aircraft types.

Michelin said the NZG tyres have advantages including weight savings that lead to fuel reductions, improvements in wear increases and increased damage resistance leading to a reduction in unscheduled maintenance.
