Flying Start, British Airways’ charity in partnership with Comic Relief, has reached the £12 million milestone.

Flying Start, which has been running since 2010, aims to raise money to help children living incredibly tough lives in the UK and across the world's poorest countries.

During that time, British Airways’ contribution has helped over 355,000 children and young people who lead tough lives both here in the UK and Internationally. This money has enabled thousands of children to be vaccinated against malaria, has got disadvantaged children into school and learning, and given many children a better future.

Keith Williams, British Airways’ executive chairman said: “We’re delighted to have reached this phenomenal milestone of raising £12 million for Flying Start. “During my time at British Airways, I have been both inspired and overwhelmed by our colleagues and customers’ commitment and generosity. Whether it’s through donations or participating in a fundraising activity their collective efforts have been remarkable.”
