In keeping with Tsogo Sun’s focus on continually meeting the highest standards, the hotel group will close Sabi River Sun hotel for accommodation from the 17th June 2015 for renovation.

The Sabi River Sun hotel, part of the popular Sabi River Sun Resort, lies along the banks of the Sabie River in the majestic Mpumalanga Lowveld, South Africa and has been the ideal getaway for families, nature lovers and golf enthusiasts for many decades.

The hotel will be refurbished and renovated during this time to modernise and revitalise the offering. The Resort and the Sesonke restaurant, outdoor terrace, the golf bar restaurant and public areas of the hotel will remain open for business during the renovations.

Guests can continue to enjoy the Resorts’ amenities set in 200 acres of lush bushveld and numerous lakes, which are home to a wealth of bird life, hippopotami and crocodiles, or visit the Kruger National Park and some of the region’s most splendid landmarks such as Bourke’s Luck Potholes, God’s Window and the Blyde River Canyon.

With the reopening scheduled for the 3rd October 2015, this grand old lady will boast 60 newly refurbished rooms, complete with new soft furnishings and air-conditioning.

The old 1970/80’s bathrooms will be replaced with spacious modern bathrooms with walk-in showers, and brand new doors and aluminium window panes – a complete transformation of the current bedrooms and bathrooms!

During the renovations the exterior façade of the hotel will receive a facelift with the necessary touch-ups and new balcony railings.
