AWA Offers Bumper Package To Travel Agents, Customers

Africa World Airlines (AWA), Ghanaian based regional carrier, has held a brand strategy and brain storming meeting with top travel agents in an effort to further build its market share in the Nigerian air travel space and to promote greater loyalty among its customers.

The Chief Commercial Officer, AWA, Katherine-Lois Tosan Woode said: “We are working diligently with more agents like you to improve our distribution channels, upgrade our online payment platforms, grow our route network and carry out robust marketing that will make us the airline of choice on the Lagos – Accra route”.

Another product on offer is the AWA School Fare which allows students to proceed beyond Accra to Kumasi at an attractive price. She said: “The AWA school fare will resonate with our student passengers who have taken to the Ghana Education system as a viable alternate to the international one. Also, AWA is the airline of choice for traders and the oil and gas community because we can connect you direct from Lagos beyond Accra to Kumasi, Tamale and soon to Takoradi,” noted Woode.

Furthermore, in a bid to compensate for the size of its aircraft type, an Embraer (ERJ) 145, the she said AWA has introduced a new Baggage Allowance Policy which allows passengers to check-in one free piece of 23 kilos plus a carry-on bag of 6 kilos, adding that two extra bags of 32 kilos each can also be checked-in at a flat rate of N5500 per bag instead of the usual rate of N500 per kilo. Alternatively, passengers with many more bags can check-in three extra bags of 32 kilos at a flat rate of N5000 per bag.

As a way of culminating the day’s event on a cheery note, the airline conducted an impromptu quiz session with five free return tickets to Accra. Those who emerged as winners include Mr. Donald Ullah of Rewards Travel; Mr. Sakar Bello, JerryBright Travel and Tours; Mr. Olaitan Adisa, American Express; Mr. Femi Osho, Adonai Travels and Mr. Ewos Iroro of Travel and Business News.

There was also a Punctuality Reward Ticket which was presented to Mr. Jaiyeola Patrick of HRG for being the earliest to arrive at the event.
